Palmer Lake hosts family science and engineering night

Palmer Lake Elementary teamed up with Boston Scientific and The Works Museum to put on a fun, engaging night of science and engineering for the school’s scholars and families Feb. 21.

"We love having The Works Museum come to Palmer Lake!" said Principal Sarah Schmidt. "Students can engage in a wide variety of science related hands-on activities with their families. A huge thank you goes to Boston Scientific for this event. They funded the event, brought in The Works Museum and event volunteers and provided a dinner."

Families could enjoy a pizza dinner in the cafeteria and a wide variety of games and activities in the school’s library media center and gymnasium. Just some of the options included:

  • Different animals pelts and nature items to explore
  • A variety of building and circuitry building toys
  • Science projects to construct such as sound sandwiches, fling flyers, stick poppers and kaleidoscopes
  • Park Center Senior High School’s robotics team providing demonstrations and helping students learn to maneuver them
